| Qualifying for the General Election shall be held in the Clerk’s Office at City Hall beginning at 8:30 A.M. August 30, 2010, and ending at 4:00 P.M. September 3, 2010. The qualifying fee shall be $15.00. A pauper’s affidavit may be filed in lieu of paying the qualifying fee. Please see the elections page for information on the 2010 General Election. |

| Make sure your house number posting is compliant with Rabun County 911 System Requirements! As per Ordinance 10-02, homes in Sky Valley have until July 1, 2010 to come into compliance with 911 posting requirements. Ordinance 10-02 & 911 Address Posting Requirements. You can purchase the sign and have it installed by the Rabun County Mapping Office. Please contact them directly at (706) 782-7579 for information on this service. If you are not compliant with the 911 Posting Requirement by July 1, 2010, the City will have a sign installed and will bill you the actual cost of installation. The City is compiling a list of non-compliant signs and will place the order as soon as possible. If your sign is not compliant and you order a sign, please contact City Hall so we do not order an additional sign. |
| USE OF RIGHT OF WAY - Ordinance 09-16 Effective January 1, 2010 The City of Sky Valley will permit flowers, shrubs, and decorative plants on its right of way adjacent to private property. Prior to permitting these flowers, shrubs, and decorative plants on the right of way, the property owner must make an application and this application must be approved by the City of Sky Valley. Permitting will not be approved for any plantings on the City side of the ditch line nor within five (5) feet of the edge of the road. To the extent that flowers, shrubs, and decorative plants are allowed on the right of way, these improvements will be allowed on a temporary basis, and the use of the right of way may be reclaimed at any time by the City of Sky Valley when it is determined by the City of Sky Valley that the right of way is needed for any public purpose. The City of Sky Valley will have no responsibility or obligation to pay for the flowers, shrubs, and decorative plants if removed nor any responsibility to pay for damage to said flowers, shrubs, and decorative plants.
